Project History
Fragrance is the hardest product to sell online. Customers cannot smell it, and a bad guess wastes money. In a shop, a seller helps them test, compare and decide. On a screen, there is only a photo and a description. Many fragrance websites treat that gap lightly. They show a bottle, a price and a short line of text. Shoppers hesitate, and hesitation costs sales. Sheen-i, a luxury fragrance brand, wanted to close that gap. Trust is part of the problem. Online fragrance buyers worry about authenticity, packaging and whether a scent will suit them. A thin page raises every one of those doubts.
The brand also had a bigger challenge. Luxury buyers expect a certain feeling. They expect rich visuals, thoughtful words and a smooth path to checkout. A basic store signals the opposite. Gifting added another layer. Many fragrance orders are presents, and gift buyers often know little about scent families or notes. They need guidance. Most browsing happens on phones too, which leaves very little room for clutter. Sheen-i needed a store that felt sensory, even on a small screen. The brand needed a design that showed quality quickly. Photography, spacing and typography all had to say luxury without saying a word. At the same time, the store had to stay easy to use. Returns often hurt luxury brands. A wrong scent bought online often means a refund and a lost customer. Clear information protects both sides.
Sheen-i approached Surlavish Technologies in Pakistan in 2026. The brief was to build a store that makes scent discovery feel as sensory online as it is in person. The brand wanted strong storytelling, mood based imagery and clear notes breakdowns. It also wanted help with social media and search. Our team started with one question. What does a customer need to feel, read and see before they trust a scent they cannot smell? Every design and content decision came from the answer. Success meant that a first time visitor could browse, understand and buy with confidence. It also meant giving returning customers an easy way to find their next favourite. Success also meant a smooth path from discovery to payment.

What We Did
We designed the store around storytelling. Each fragrance page opens with mood based imagery and a descriptive story. A clear breakdown of top, heart and base notes follows. Customers get enough sensory detail to imagine the scent before it arrives. We built filters by scent family, occasion and longevity, so shoppers narrow options fast. Dedicated gifting sections and bundle options help buyers who purchase presents and are unsure where to begin. Product photography and layout carry the luxury feel. Spacing is generous, type is refined and nothing crowds the bottle. Visitors can browse for a long time without feeling rushed or overwhelmed. Product pages also suggest similar scents, so shoppers keep exploring. We also added short guidance on how to wear each scent. Notes on season, occasion and strength help shoppers choose. Clear images show the bottle from several angles. Nothing stays hidden from buyers.
Our team handled web design and online store development, with mobile shoppers as the priority throughout. We wrote sensory, descriptive copy for each fragrance, so no two pages read alike. We also set up the SEO optimisation, using focused titles and product language that shoppers search. Social media management kept the brand visible while the store grew. The full project took three to five weeks, from planning to launch. Product copy follows a clear pattern, but each description keeps its own personality. We used scent language that real customers understand, not technical jargon. That keeps the store friendly while preserving its premium tone.

Frequently asked questions
How do you sell fragrance online when customers cannot smell it first?
We rely on detailed notes breakdowns, mood-based descriptions and strong imagery, giving customers enough sensory context to imagine the scent confidently before deciding to buy.
Can the store group fragrances by scent family or occasion?
Yes, we build filtering by scent family, occasion and longevity, which helps customers narrow down options quickly instead of scrolling through the entire catalogue.
Do you write product descriptions as well as design the store?
We craft descriptive, sensory led product copy for each fragrance, since generic descriptions rarely convince a customer to purchase something they cannot physically test.
How does the site handle gifting and bundled fragrance sets?
We build dedicated gifting sections and bundle options, since fragrance is frequently purchased as a gift, and clear presentation there noticeably increases conversion.
Will the store work well for customers shopping on mobile?
Yes, we design with mobile shoppers as the priority throughout, since most fragrance browsing and impulse purchasing now happens on phones rather than desktop.
